Your aura is your spiritual shield, and like a shield it should surround you completely and not have gaps or holes.
The aura is distinct from that energy sometimes called ki or chi, for while
chi is a feature of the body (even if it is an incompletely understood one),
the aura is spiritual in nature. The aura reacts to a person's emotions,
intent, and health.
Some people can see auras when they look at people. Some fewer people can see auras from a distance, without being in the person's presence.
An aura can develop thin areas, and spiritual worker can "stretch" the aura's thicker parts to build up these thin spots, if the damage is not too serious.
Entire sections of the aura can be lost, however, and "stretching" probably will not suffice to close up these gaps. In such cases, what has probably happened is that another person has appropriated the part of the aura that is missing, often for what at the time was a justifiable reason. A spiritual worker such as Nina will find the person or soul who has that fragment of the aura and essentially negotiate for its return with the aim that the well-being of both people improve.
Why would one person borrow a part of another person's aura? Nina says that it happens all the time, for whenever a woman becomes pregnant, the soul of the fetus borrows part of the mother's aura for protection; when the child is born, the newborn acquires its own aura and gives back the part that it borrowed from the mother.
Now, if that process is interrupted, if there is a miscarriage or an abortion, then the soul of the fetus carries off the piece of the aura that it has borrowed, and the mother is left with a gap in her aura which will be there for life, unless the unborn soul returns the missing piece.
Men can also lose a piece of their aura to another person. To take an example, a mother undergoing a traumatic difficulty may reach out to a son and take a part of his aura for needed strength. However, that is not a situation that should be allowed to persist throughout a person's life, especially if the mother has passed away. The piece of the aura is not automatically returned to the son upon her death, and yet obviously the mother does not need it any more.
